suburbs? to the suburbs. *shudder*

i need to get some furniture shopping done...and seriously. despite the fact that i'm not in college anymore, i still am of the opinion that ikea rocks. i mean...dressers, desks, bookcases, and swedish meatballs all in one place? sign me up!

this also means a long, relaxing journey on public transit. the store is in's an hour and a half on trains and buses each way, so that will give me lots of time to read more of the awesome new book i picked up at HOPE and haven't had the chance to read much of yet.

How do you do Ikea via public transit? And do you have the furniture delivered?

it's long, but doable if you have most of a day to devote. i took the addison bus to the blue line, the blue line to rosemont, then caught the pace 606 [schaumburg] bus to woodfield mall, and then the pace woodfield free trolley out to the store. i could have walked half a mile from the 606 stop to ikea if i wanted to, but since it was raining, i decided to be a lazy-bones and take the trolley.

and, as for the furniture...yes. i am having them deliver it to the apartment.
